ABOUT KIVETON PARK COMMUNITY SPORTS PARK

We were thrilled to announce in September 2015 that we had secured a major investment boost for the community of close to half a million pounds, for a new all weather sports facility to replace the onsite tarmac sports facility that was in urgent need of repair. Three years work by the development trust came to fruition when major funders finally gave the green light.

The old facility (established approx 15 years ago) was tired and in urgent need of repair. So the dream was to bring it up to date with a state of the art all weather facility that would include the latest in 3G all weather playing surfaces, Multi mesh re-bound fencing and Abacus sports floodlighting. And now that dream has become a reality.

We were delighted to announce that POWER TO CHANGE were to be the main funders for our sports facility re-development with Harsco Steel also making a significant contribution to the facility's development. POWER TO CHANGE will over the next decade use £150 million provided by the Big Lottery Fund to support, develop and grow community business across England

The vision and goal of the Kiveton Park & Wales Community Development Trust was to provide Kiveton, Wales and the wider community with a sports facility fit for the 21st Century.

Working with Burnell Briercliffe architects and Charles Lawrence surfaces, both specialist in this field of work, we have now developed a state of the art 3G All weather facility. Incorporating the very latest in All weather surfaces. The Profoot Master Max 60

  Accessibility

Our aim is for as many people as possible to be able to access this facility, and we are committed to: Creating an environment for people of all ages and backgrounds to get active.

We know that disabled people are less likely to take part in sport with only one in six playing sport regularly compared to one in three non-disabled people. Our aim will seek to challenge and change this, to enable disabled people to take part in sport which is why we believe there should be no barriers to those who wish to access and use this facility, particularly if they are from groups who are currently under-represented in sport.
